Why attorneys book Mikhail
Certified and registered
Certified by the Judicial Council of California and registered with the New York State Unified Court System, and bound by the professional conduct rules for court interpreters: accuracy, impartiality, confidentiality.
From small claims to federal appeals
Hundreds of hearings in criminal, civil, family law, property and commercial, small claims and unlawful detainer cases, and oral argument before the U.S. Bankruptcy Appellate Panel of the Ninth Circuit.
Every mode, every word
Simultaneous for proceedings the client follows, consecutive for testimony, sight translation of documents on the record. In person or on Zoom, Teams and WebEx, always in the first person and without omissions.
Exhibits in Russian, Ukrainian and Hebrew
Exhibits are sight-translated on the record or translated in advance with a certificate of translation. Witnesses from Ukraine or Israel who use Ukrainian or Hebrew words are understood, because Mikhail works in both languages.
Understands the law behind the words
Harvard Law School's online course in contract law, an Immigration Law Specialist Certificate and years in immigration, civil and appellate courts. In contract disputes and appeals, he follows the legal issues, so the interpretation is precise exactly where the outcome is decided.
Strategic, strictly impartial
Strategy means choosing the English that carries exactly what the witness meant, so the court hears the testimony as it was given. Nothing added, nothing left out, no side taken.
